Computers and Prezis

Now that we've spent a number of weeks researching and taking notes on an animal of our choice we have begun putting all that information together. Some chose 'prezis' as their tool and others stuck with what they know best which is a Power Point presentation.

Fabulous Friday

Katija: I had a good day today. My favourite bit was when we went to the computer room. I wrote a story about Hop the easter bunny. We did science and had to do a survey about four trees. We had to take photos of them with an iPad.

Madison: I had a very good day. It was the best day at this school. My favourite bit was when my class went in the computer room and published some of our stories. 

Charlie: Today I had to do a survey about trees in our school to find the gum trees. We then had to take photos of them using an iPad to find evidence of insects and animals. I really enjoyed publishing my story on the computer. I liked having 'Taylor Time' this afternoon where we got to play with photo booth on the iPads and do drawing.

WE HAVE WIFI!!!!!

We finally have Wifi!! I am so excited! It means that we will be able to start researching in the classroom with our school iPads. Instead of waiting for our computer time which we only get once a week, we will be able to book a time with the iPads when we need to do research and then log in to the DET school wifi and get onto the internet. I can't wait!! You can see one of the magic boxes in the photo below with its beautiful green flashing lights (only without them flashing!). 

Fabulous Week Four

Our fabulous week has involved learning about how 'visualising' or making movies or pictures in our heads can help us with our comprehension. We continued to look at persuasive writing and had to think today about how we can use more interesting vocabulary when trying to persuade someone to do something. We said goodbye to 'nice' and 'good' and found some more interesting words to help us persuade!

Number groups were next and then we thought about what a community means to us.

The day finished with computers where we learnt to send emails. Everyone managed to send a beautiful email to me and I made sure that I've replied to them all! A big job!
